Ron is an award winning Director of Photography with extensive Director, Producer and Editor credits. Based in Sydney Australia, Ron has over 29years experience shooting on film, video and high definition formats for documentaries, television commercials and television programs. Ron gained his knowledge from a hands on approach and an opportunity at the start of his career to work with some of Australia’s most respected DOP’s. He is passionate about all forms of film making and embraces new technology that allows him to express his creativity.

Ron also has big screen experience and has worked on feature and animated feature films. His fascination with technology has seen him build and modify mini cameras for a number of projects. His love of fishing allowed him to explore some amazing camera angles while shooting and producing the fishing show Strikezone TV which lead the way in underwater strike action in Australia, recording many never before seen predator and prey interactions. Ron is always searching for that new angle or perspective to take the viewer into the action.

Ron has now taken to the skies with the purchase of a DJI Phantom 2 Quad Copter. His quest to to find that new angle now allows him to explore the skies and to offer his clients that elusive high shot.

Ron’s work has taken him all over the world from the tropical jungles of Malaysia to the concrete jungles of the US. He has travelled and photographed in all corners of the world as well as all parts of Australia criss-crossing the country by four wheel drive and light aircraft he also has many hours logged at sea on expeditions, television shows and documentaries.

His ‘can do’ attitude, adaptability and depth of experience in the field on long and short term projects makes him an asset to any production. With a broad knowledge of all facets of film, television and documentary production, Ron’s involvement in any project allows a smooth transition from concept through to completion

In addition to time in the field, Ron has lectured at the Sydney campus of the Australian Film Television and Radio School lecturing on documentary cinematography, creative use of available light and mini DV camera techniques.
